"Once In a Blue Moon Farmstead" has a few show quality potential day old Wheaten/Blue Wheaten/Splash Ameraucana chicks for sale this week. Our Ameraucana flock was purchased and shipped in from Texas. I have 12 left and they are one day old. Please get in touch with me quickly if you would like them. We sell out quickly. A discount will be considered for the purchase of all 12.

The chicks are sold straight run and are $8 each.

For a local order (within driving distance), I require a 50% deposit to hold chicks.

My flock was purchased directly from Paul Smith out of Texas. He is a huge contributor to this breed. Paul has produced numerous show winners over the years. I searched high and low before purchasing my birds from him.

Ameraucanas have a friendly, docile nature and lay beautiful baby blue eggs. They can be mated with a dark brown egg layer to produce olive green eggs.

It is important to note that Ameraucanas are often confused with Araucana and Easter Egger chickens. Numerous large scale hatcheries, as well as other individuals, claim to sell Ameraucanas while they are actually only Easter Eggers. Easter Eggers are a mixed chicken and are not true Ameraucanas. Authentic Ameraucanas are a recognized breed by the American Poultry Association.
